Dr. Masuka-Kironji
Dr. Lucy Nurse Masuka-Kironji was raised in a nurturing family environment in Winterveldt, located north of Pretoria in Gauteng. She completed her high school education at I.R. Lesolang High School in 2008 and pursued her undergraduate studies in general dentistry at the Medical University of South Africa (MEDUNSA-UL, now known as SMU), graduating in 2014.

Her career began in 2015 as a community service dentist at Taung Hospital. From 2016 to 2017, Dr. Masuka worked as a general dentist at Morokweng CHC in the North West, where she noticed a significant gap in specialized services in periodontics and oral medicine, particularly when dealing with numerous cases of oral lesions. This realization led her to join the University of Pretoria as a Developmental dentist in 2018 to deepen her expertise in these areas. In 2021, she was accepted into the registrarship program at the same university, culminating in her earning a master’s degree in Periodontics and Oral Medicine in 2025, marking her as the first Black South African to achieve this qualification at the esteemed institution.

Recently, Dr. Masuka has launched her first private practice in Alberton, where she aims to deliver comprehensive care, including treatment for periodontitis and oral diseases, as well as exceptional implant placement and management. On a personal note, Dr. Masuka enjoys cooking for her family and traveling. She is dedicated to educating and sharing her knowledge with her patients, friends, family, and colleagues. Additionally, she is thrilled to support all her patients in achieving a healthy and stable oral cavity.
